Love is in the Air!

Its Nearly that time again and no doubt we will all be in a rush to plan something special for Valentines Day! Well start planning now. Below is a list of our top 5 things you could do to have a fun Valentines day. So lets start with number 1....

1) Balloon Ride

Now obviously the first thing you need to do is make sure that your other half is not scared of heights! A balloon ride can be one of the most romantic things to do, traveling over the land in early morning to the sun rising. Take a few provisions like a blanket to keep warm and best of all a hamper with all the little treats you will both love and of course you will need a bottle of bubbly to round things off. Very romantic and how many of your friends can say the have been ballooning?

2) Baby Its Cold Outside

Now we all know the weather hasnt been its best so why not set up a 'PicNic' inside. Get a really comfy throw and scatter cushions for the floor and adorn it with all you favourite foods and drinks. To add that special touch why not place candles (safely)  or fairy lights around to give that added romance!

3) Cocktail Making Class

I know alot of people would love this and it is great fun! We have all tried and failed on many occasions to make our own cocktails and lets face it 9 times out of 10 its been horrid! So why not try a cocktail making class? Get a professional to show you what works best then go home and have a cocktail evening and make a few nibbles to go along side them! FAB!

4) Take A Trip Down Memory Lane

This will make a really thoughtful trip. Why not go back to the spot where it all began, whether it was at the park, in a bar or a spot in the street, go back and reminisce about that very day! A great gift to go alongside this would be a beautiful photo album of all the special moments you have had together...how could you go wrong!

5) Go Karting

Now not everyone is 'Romantic' but instead want to have some fun and Go Karting is a great way of having a giggle! What could be better then driving at speed against your partner, you could even have a bet that the loser has to buy drinks or a meal at the end!

Whatever you choose to do on Valentines day make sure you spend it with the right person and for that one special day tell them how much they mean to you.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!

Welcome Charmology!

Its My Generation would like to welcome a new designer to our family...Charmology.

They create wonderful real gemstone charm bracelets, each of which has a special meaning. Read all about them and see theie wonderful collection in our Gift Ideas and Dress Jewellery sections....Enjoy the read.

Charmology

The founders of Charmology are Carol Abbott and Gillian Bruce-Knight who started working together in 2001. Carol loved gemstones and loved shops. So in 1995 she opened a little shop in Northampton called Crystal Clear, and over the years she noticed that all customers were really interested to know what each gemstone was associated with.

Gillian came to work with Carol in the shop in 2000 and after much thought they create a package that would let the customer know everything about the gemstone. Everything sold so well in her little shop that they decided to sell to other shops.

At this time they were making jewellery in a drafty garage with a little window because it had a view of Letty the donkey (which kept them sane when the orders came flooding in).

In 2008 they thought of creating a branded range of gift jewellery that had meaning. Jewellery that speaks to us of spiritual stories and magical myths, where every piece is talisman. Everyone can wear a little bit of magic!

Take a look at their amazing collection at www.itsmygeneration.co.uk in our Gift Ideas and Dress Jewellery sections.

Designers Of The Week!!

This week we couldn't decide on which designer to have for our designer of the week so....we have chosen 2! yes 2 designers of the weeks! Aspiga and Babyface are our lucky designers..Enjoy the read.

I set up aspiga seven years ago after visiting Kenya on holiday, and falling in love, not only with the country itself, but with their stunning sandals and so many of their other wonderful hand made products. Luckily, many of you also seem to love their products, so the company has expanded rapidly over the last few years.
I now have 6 suppliers in Kenya (where the majority of our products are made), who are individuals, with small work forces (not large factories) giving much needed jobs to local men and women in their community. The work they receive from aspiga, they often tell us, ensures their livelihoods and that of their families. Please take a look at our Producers link to find out more.
I am especially proud that aspiga, is not only selling some fabulous accessories, but is also helping to fight poverty in Africa, through trade.
We are also proud that we donate a percentage of our profits to The Brydges centre, a children's orphanage just outside Nairobi, who struggle financially on a daily basis, to carry out their hugely valuable and necessary work.
I feel very fortunate that I now have a reason to visit such a beautiful country, with some of the friendliest and happiest people I have ever met.
In 2012 we have expanded our range quite extensively realising that people visiting our website are normally shopping for their holidays, so we now sell some fantastic swim wear and beach wear brands, along with great jewellery and accessories – hopefully making us your “one stop holiday shop”

Babyface Designs Ltd was founded in 2003 when designer Grainne Roche and business director Aileen Mitchell had a vision to produce high quality, stylish children’ s bedding. The two sisters went in pursuit of a suitable factory to develop Grainne’s designs in India. The positive feedback they got from friends and family (all mums!), prompted them to develop this idea further. They began by selling Babyface products at trade fairs, set up the Babyface website and the brand Babyface was launched.
Grainne and Aileen have continued to develop and expand the Babyface brand over the past five years. The successful worldwide mail order and wholesale divisions continue to grow at an aggressive rate, with the aim that Babyface will soon be one of the most influential design companies in the Children’s Interiors market.
Taking inspiration from the adventures in children’s literature, Grainne’s designs follow the latest trends in children’s themes and textiles. Her signature bold colours and attention grabbing style brings a refreshing look to this market. Grainne is always looking for new opportunities to introduce the most stylish products into the Babyface brand. Her objective being, to meet the needs of busy parents, who want a designer look in their child’s room, without the hassle!
The Babyface collection of classically designed children’s bedding is not only affordable to the average parent but also practical, making it more and more popular. We only use high quality natural fibres in our products, allowing our bedding to be skin friendly and machine washable.
Designing and developing products is a time consuming business but the rewards have been significant to both our customers and businesses alike, with some of our suppliers now commissioning their own exclusive ranges.
2012 is an exciting year for us, we now hold a solid position in the marketplace and continue to grow and expand the Babyface brand.
Im sure you will agree that these 2 designers are great! Please take a look at Babyface in our Baby &Child section and Aspiga in our Beachwear section at www.itsmygeneration.co.uk
